I have been using Pampers Pure Protection diapers for my two children (2 years and 5 months) since birth. In the last 2 years, their quality has been stable and I have been satisfied. However, when I received my last order of size 2 diapers, I noticed a very strong, very strange odor emanating from the diapers. It smelled like an unpleasant smell of laundry or a chemical smell. The diapers came in a typical sealed box and sealed clear plastic sleeves. None of the packaging was damaged. I let the diapers air out for more than 24 hours but they kept the smell. I contacted customer service and they were very accommodating and wrote down all my information and assured me that they would report the issue to QA. I finally decided not to use diapers, so I went out and bought a new box (same size, same quantity) at my local Target store. Unfortunately, the new box also has the same smell, which points to a manufacturing defect. I also plan to report the problem with the new box to customer service. In the meantime, I can try the seventh generation or the special Huggies delivery line. Has anyone else had this problem?
