I bought this to use with my wife's iPhone 6 after buying a case that was said to be designed for the iPhone 6 for Qi charging. There is a receiver built into the case, not one where the receiver attaches to the back of the phone between the case and the phone. The charging pad does not charge or heat up at all. However, it's very fussy about phone placement. If the phone is slightly "off center" (wherever it is) it will turn on and off, and if the phone is not on silent it will beep every time. We've found an ideal spot where it keeps charging multiple times, but it doesn't seem to be in the same place every time! If we find that place, we'll keep using KoolPad. Otherwise we return to the traditional charging cable.
