Review on Y.R.Lover Kids Balaclava - Windproof Face Neck Cover & Thick Fleece Winter Hat for Boys and Girls by Andy Edwards

My son asked me for something warm for his face when he goes to play snowball. I bought him a few different styles of balaclavas (or "ninja masks" as he calls them) and they just didn't fit him. It turns out he doesn't like it when something fits tightly in his mouth or nose. He will not wear scarves over his mouth because they are too tight. This cozy thing is PERFECT. The part covering the face is not tight at all. This allows him to do what he loves to do, which is to hug his face when he gets cold. And then he can drop it. It doesn't constrain his face at all, which makes him very happy. He likes it. I was a little worried he would find the color "too girly" but he doesn't seem to mind. It's super soft, cozy and warm. It fits perfectly under a coat that is almost fully zipped up and helps to keep the neck warm and also prevents snow from getting in. It sits on it very well. He's almost 9 and has a huge head. (Ha!) So I'd say it's probably suitable for teenagers, not younger kids. My youngest son is 4 and definitely too big for him. I'm an adult with a small head and it suits me too. The limiting factor isn't so much the space inside the hood. (As you can see in my photo, there's a lot of room in his head.) Rather, it's about how big the hole in his neck is that you can stick your head through. When fully extended it is still quite small. Overall we are very happy with this cozy hoodie. I am very happy that I found it and that my son likes it. Highly recommended, just be aware of the sizing issues I've encountered.
