I was wrong in assuming that USB A <-> USB C cables can charge my pixel as fast as possible. I have bought and returned many cables. Although this cable is 10 feet long, it charges quickly (with an equally good PD-enabled charger, of course). With the Android app "Amp" you can measure the inrush current while charging. From my factory charger and factory cable I get 3000mA inrush current, but with USB A -> USB C cables I can only get 1500-2000mA - anything plugged into USB A doesn't support PD (Power Delivery). )! Even at this lower level, it still says "Fast Charge" because it's still fast compared to the old USB power level. But you're not charging as fast as you can. Most people have USB-A chargers, including those advertised as "Fast Charge" or "3A," but that doesn't help. Fast charging is not power supply. They're different. So they end up buying USB-A to USB-C cables, thinking that if you need to upgrade to full USB-C instead, that's the way to go: Buy a USB-C charger and a USB-C cable C at both ends. Please make sure the cable AND charger says "PD" or "Supply Power" before purchasing. I even made sure to get a new car cigarette -> USB adapter with USB-C connector (again, supports PD power delivery). It also has a regular USB-A port for my passenger.
