My 8 month old pup, a 17lb Dachshund/Mini Pinscher mix, will be warmer on cold walks in this lovely zipped vest. I figured it would be better for her (chews aggressively) if I bought something other than a knitted sweater and she didn't want to chew on it, so my explanation seems to be working. It's thinner than I'd like, but I find it keeps her warmer than wearing something over her cropped coat. It doesn't stop her from standing out at all on walks as it's just the right size to stop right in front of her ass. Lightning is really great! Finally, a dog sweater does not have to be pulled over the dog's head. It's very easy to put on and take off (the dog just goes in the front paw holes and you zip it up) and it's already been through a wash and turned out very well (I didn't put it in the dryer, I air dry) . ). I plan to buy another one in a different color.
