Review on Convenience Concepts American Heritage Flip Top End Table with Shelf, Espresso - Simple and Stylish Storage Solution by Stephanie Armijo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This attractive little table was very difficult to assemble

I had a very tight space next to the sofa where I used a simple table with a candle holder to hold the lamp. The Revain table offered the ability to hold a lamp with room for a book or two on top as well as storage for remote controls etc. In the upper compartment with a sturdy bookshelf below. What's not to like? Some assembly was required - I assembled a lot of other parts, some of which were really tricky, so I ordered them. I laid out all the parts, read the instructions and got to work. All was going well until I stumbled upon installing a "nut" to insert a bolt through an adjacent piece with the ubiquitous hex wrench. from okay 8 such assemblies, on one I managed to break the nut, but I could not pull it out, since the corner was blind. So I proceeded to build another 7 successfully, but found that 1 failed build messed up the groove alignment for the bottom of the storage compartment. Well, tomorrow is another day to resize the floor and finish it. And it worked thanks to some good glue and a rubber mallet (not included). There are also no spare nuts or bolts included, so there's no risk of breakage. Anyway, the table is assembled, beautiful, and sits well, and no one will ever know the history of assembly, sweat, and swearing. Not the "pleasant experience" promised in the instructions.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine
