Good sturdy large container, holds about 20 pounds of flour. BUT the lid is designed so that you press down with the handle to "burp" the air, then block the seal by flipping the handle down. In this flat closed position, I can still remove the lid - and while it doesn't come off very easily, it doesn't take much effort either. I think if it were truly airtight you could almost grab a filled container by the handle without ripping the lid off, but that's not the case. So if you are looking for long term airtight food storage this probably isn't for you but if you just need something for everyday use with a large storage capacity where the product will be used frequently then this will do.
