There is no recess to fix the coiled cord.
The length isn't bad but the lack of a cut out at the entrance to the wall so you can snap the wire together with another part of the coiled cord was annoying. I had to drill a matching hole in the large round portion of the cable end/socket end to allow the cable to be secured rather than tucking the cable in between the other wrapped section when tucked away.
