I've had the original version of this type of tray for years and really liked it - the Good Stuff Hidden Litter Box. We had a second cat so we needed a second liter box and rather than get a repeat of the original design we wanted to replace it with a different type of 'plant'. Not only is this version much more expensive for no reason, but it also has an inferior design that is more difficult to use. First, the lid is not one-piece, but two-piece, so the plant part is not connected, and you have to take it off first, and then the rest of the top cover, which is troublesome in everyday life. Instead of the top pressing lightly against the bottom, there are three notches that you need to line up, as opposed to the entire rim being a groove like the Hidden Litter version. Another reason why cat pee gets stuck in the gutter is because the bottom rim isn't as high as the Hidden Litter version, which is AMAZING! Finally, this bin is called the XL, but it's the same size as the hidden bin, which costs about $30 less. Very disappointing purchase - do NOT consider.
