This high density foam is exactly what I was hoping for. I needed a firmer reading chair cushion as I have back and leg issues. The existing pillow was medium density and at times I could barely get out of my chair let alone walk around afterwards. When I sat down I was initially concerned that it might be too stiff, but not only is it supportive, it's also very comfortable. Foam comes tightly shrink-wrapped (like mattresses come in a box). The foam was a little larger than I needed but I left it in my pocket while it expanded and then twisted the end when it was the right size. Left in the pocket, it was also very easy to insert into the seat cushion. Another plus is that I didn't notice any foam smell, unlike many pillows and mattresses that need to be aired out before use.
