Not the worst for a starter set. I used to cut linoleum and wanted to make my own stamps. I think the problem with this set is the carving tools. While they're sharp enough to cut through the material that comes with them, you'll run into trouble if you try to finish the cut. It's like it just won't cut off the dangling piece and you end up having to tug on it. With better tools I didn't have this problem.
