Practical laundry helper

I decided to try these Revolution Fibers Wool Dryer Balls to see if they would help improve the drying process of our sheets, which often come out of the dryer wrinkled and damp-stained. The skeins come in their own drawstring canvas bag and outer plastic bag to ensure the wool fibers do not take on a musty odor during storage or shipping. The set comes with 6 drying balls, although you can use fewer depending on the size of your laundry load. Each dryer ball is approximately 3 inches in diameter, or the size of a tennis ball; I hold one in an overview photo to give you an idea of its size compared to my hand. The dryer balls smell fresh and clean right out of the bag, and I'm happy to report that they don't smell like wet sheep when stumbling into the dryer with wet laundry. The dryer balls really seem to help fluff up our laundry and they're particularly useful with towels. (I never wash towels with fabric softener as it can reduce their absorbency, but I've noticed our towels appear fluffier since using them.) They don't always prevent our sheets from puckering, however. I put balls in between layers of fabric when putting clothes in the dryer, but it often seems like they work their way out and end up bouncing off the walls of the drum together, rather than keeping the layers of fabric separate. promote better airflow "between things." The product description also states that these dryer balls "reduce energy use, drying time, wrinkles, static electricity, lint, and pet hair." They seem to minimize wrinkles and static electricity, although I didn't time our drying cycles to see if they went faster. However, I didn't notice any reduction in down or pet hair; in fact, I noticed tiny white fluffs on our dry laundry after we started using them - I'm not sure if this is due to the white wool fibers or if the wool balls are shedding fluff from other fabrics. when they rub against it in the dryer. Anyway, I really like these Revolution Fibers Wool Dryer Balls. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that, great as they are, they don't fully live up to the brand's promises of reducing lint/pet hair or providing better airflow between the sheets. But for the most part they are very handy laundry helpers.
