These are good lamps and they work well especially when you want to focus the light in a directional light like 360 degrees. Light output is good, not super bright but about what you'd expect. I have no way of measuring lumens so I can't make a valid comparison to a standard bulb. I wanted to point out that in some cases there may be problems with the installation. The body of these lamps does not conform to the T10 specification which requires the maximum bulb diameter to be 10mm. They measured 11.5mm at their widest point. I was going to mount them on the van's overhead console for map lighting and found that they didn't match the lamp body because the hole was just over 10mm. I had to grind the outer ring with a rotary tool. This is not a task for beginners and requires a steady hand. By removing the ring I was able to use these lamps. The old bulbs that were originally installed were 9.7mm in diameter, so within spec and fitting into a 10.2mm hole. I believe that in most cases you will have no problems installing it. , just wanted to let you know that in some cases they will not fit without modification. That minor issue aside, they work well in most indoor lighting applications that require a 194" lamp. If you need more light, there are other lamps with more SMD chips, but they are arranged differently and throw more light to the side. I wanted something very right for this app and it suited my needs. I tested all the lamps when they arrived and there was not a single defect. The contacts on the wedge are just wire but they work and I couldn't have asked for better for the price. In general I am quite satisfied.
