Just plug in the USB port and press the ON button. It comes with a sturdy tripod stand and you can mount your phone with the phone holder that screws right into the center of the ring. The ring is a good size and illuminates not only my face but also the area behind me. I've only used it a few times but so far so good. I definitely recommend it for the price.
