As my dog outgrew her closed car seat I decided to try this product to give her more freedom in the passenger seat. Her harness is still attached to the headrest to prevent too much movement in the front seat and to keep her from flying out of the windshield in the event of a hard brake or other accident. She seems happy with the arrangement! The seat cover has only been in the car for about 1 1/2 months, but seems to be holding up well to dog claws. It is not slippery, so the puppy has a stable footing. The only spillage so far is a thermos of water that spilled on the seat and the water didn't get on the car seat itself. It stays in place as advertised. Although it wasn't difficult to install, I leave it in the car all the time. The only complaint I have is that I had to choose gray from the color options available and the interior of the car is beige.
