I was a bit skeptical at first, but I'm convinced. It's soft enough that I don't scratch anything. When I bought it I was actually hoping it would be a little rougher but now it's ok as it does pretty much everything I want in a sponge. What I like most about it is that it doesn't grab or hold all the food it scrapes because the holes allow water to wash them off much easier. My first one finally seems to have worn enough to be noticeable for me to replace, but other than the lack of abrasiveness, it's still holding up very well. If it weren't for the fact that I still prefer to hold a sponge when cleaning knives, I would replace my sponges with this one and just use it with green dishwashing sponges (which still work better in terms of abrasiveness).
