I know the world of foot care products very well - pumice stones, files, buffers - I've tried almost everything. While I have a few favorite leg straighteners, I'm always open to trying something new. I love Bona Fide Beauty glass nail files so this was a good choice. Let me tell you, this is a great finishing tool! I don't think I'll be using it alone, more as the ultimate finisher. I like to remove hard calluses etc. with the Microplane foot file and then smooth it out with this glass file. It's pretty obvious, but use the coarser side first, then use the finer-grain side for the finishing touches. After each use, I wipe the glass file down with an old toothbrush and a drop of dish soap. Glass files, like any other instrument, tend to become "clogged" with small bits of dead skin that you file away. IF YOUR FILE NO LONGER WORKS, YOU MUST DELETE IT. They're made from chemically etched glass, so they can literally take a lot of abuse (just don't drop them!) before needing replacement. If the file is shared with family members, it's a good idea to quickly disinfect it and then soak it in isopropyl alcohol.
