Hope this answers some questions about this camera. 1. You will need to download the Amcrest Home app on your phone to set up this camera. Amcrest Surveillance Pro was unable to access my wireless network for the initial setup. The Home app makes this very easy.2. Once this is done, you no longer need this app. Surveillance Pro and Live View can be used to customize this camera to your liking. All settings are available (video/audio/network/motion - everything you need to set it up the way you want to use it. Yes, including setting a static IP address. Yes, this will get an IP address, hence it is an IP address) no, it doesn't have a website login like most IP cameras need to set up, but once connected to the network it's not needed anyway. Surveillance Pro/Live View gives you access to it. with perfect coverage for my needs - 101 FOV @ 2.8, the lens is spot on. Night vision is good for this price range, but not fantastic. Starlight is a great addition to these cameras. 4. Surveillance Pro (if that's your poison) has some serious curve learning. It will take some time before you understand all the settings and what they do. But once you get the hang of it, it works flawlessly, as does the Live View phone app. Cameras with iSpy and chose Amcrest (renamed Dauha's which are very good cameras). I am very satisfied with the quality of these cameras in all areas. Highly recommended for general home use! Update: 9/23/2021 The camera is still working the same as the day I received it. No questions. Yes, the wireless camera can disconnect from time to time (in my case, the location of the router is very rarely critical). Just unplug it, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in. The connection will be restored with all original settings. I see some people complaining about the motion detection. This is a software issue, not a camera issue. This camera does not have a built-in motion detector. I found some cool precision movement software on Revain if you're interested, AI Homeguard. It is controlled by artificial intelligence and eliminates 99% of motion detection problems.
