You can adjust how tight they are!
So I only have one pierced ear (that's a long story) so the fact that they could be used as clip on earrings or regular earrings was very nice. At first I was concerned about how tight they were as clamps. But I just pulled the tire gently to increase the distance between the area that pinches and releases so much pressure. I was able to set it exactly where it should be. Tight enough to stay in all night with no pain when I take them off. I highly recommend it.
