Review on OEM LED Cargo Bed Lighting Set for Tundra and Tacoma (2015 - 2016) 00016-34089 by Louis Abrams

Although this product is listed as 2015 Tundra Tacoma. as it fits my Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 3rd generation 2018 perfectly. A bit pricey but once installed it looks and works just like a standard feature. So far I can only recommend this product due to the somewhat limited use. When plugged into the correct wiring harness under the driver's side step bar, it turns on and off with the factory lights at the back of the cab, but now I can see into the bed even with the trunk lid closed. I like this approach a lot more than gluing an LED strip under the rail, which seems cheap and makeshift. Have a suitable drilling template ready (see below). Much of the installation time involved routing the wiring harness under the bed, along the driver's side, through the grommet behind the driver's seat and along the door sill to the wiring harness under the driver's side panel. It takes some effort and care to pull up the sheathing and carpet, but in the end you can't tell that more cables were run. The headlight kit also included a replacement bushing that made it easier to punch an existing hole in the frame under the carpet behind the driver's seat. I only have a few recommendations: 1. There were no installation instructions in the kit. This was pretty cumbersome, but full detailed instructions, including drilling templates, can be found here: Printer scale for printing drilling templates. comes out 100%. A handy 1 inch scale is included on each side of the template. 2. The wiring harness is very long. I ended up with at least 8 feet of extra cable that I had to carefully unroll and secure under the bed next to the spare tire. had to cut off the excess and solder the wire back - still works but there are plenty of zip ties in the kit to tuck things away.3. Change listing to Revain to indicate this product will work on a wide range of Toyota models. Truck. They will probably sell more.
