My Canon 450D needed its first telephoto lens, so I went on the hunt for one. There was already the Canon 50/1.8II and the Tamron 17-50 at that point in time. The needs were easy to understand: I needed something that was both inexpensive and, to a large extent, ubiquitous in order to comprehend what I require and how I require it. The stub was extremely sought after. This one was my favorite out of all the models I tried (albeit some of them didn't even make it to the review testing stage). Darling, I wasn't certain if my photographic ability could justify it. Again, it's a bit shorter, and there's no stabilizer this time. When combined with my 100th series and a little pen, the weight of the Tamron makes it impossible for my hand to continue taking pictures after thirty minutes. The Canon 70-300 lens was not to my liking. I have no complaints about the lens at all. Focusing very swiftly and precisely while maintaining a moderate level of sharpness. Optimal focal length for the situation (near end 55m, not 70mm). If you can keep your hands steady, the stabilizer will let you shoot at shutter speeds of 1/60 to 1/30 at the long end (which is equivalent to roughly 400 effective millimeters). Humans have the ability to concentrate quite closely, which, when coupled with a long focus, results in a non-macro image. My coworker wanted the same one after seeing enough of the photographs that he shot, but she does not have a telephoto lens. In my opinion, there is no other option that is superior to this one if you are looking for your very first telephoto lens so that you can learn what it is and why it is useful. A full five and a half. My opinion is that this is the best telezoom lens for the money.
