no idea who or what was stolen. The purpose of a surveillance system is to ensure that your valuables are monitored and protected to some degree. However, what happens when thieves take away the DVR with video footage of their theft? The only evidence you can get is email snapshots of the intrusion UNLESS the DVR sends email snapshots and you are unlucky. I know it firsthand because that was my circumstance and that's the way it is with this DVR; it does NOT send pictures. Camvtech support tried to make me believe that it was my Internet Service Provider (ISP) that "deleted" the snapshot from the email. That's just not true! I've been in the information technology industry for over 35 years and have worked with numerous DVRs, so I knew better. The ISP blocks or rejects the entire email but does not remove the attached image and then sends a blank email. I tested this DVR with 3 different providers and the DVR doesn't send any pictures at all. In addition, the DVR motion detection is poor and inconsistent. A car pulled out of my driveway and the DVR didn't detect the movement of this large object. However, the cat walked through my patio and the DVR recorded, logged and sent a push notification to my cell phone but did NOT email; very unreliable. I received this DVR which was obviously in an open box. The packaging of the dashcam and mouse was unsealed, and the phone's documentation and application CD were missing. Camvtech support emailed me the documentation. However, after three full days of trying it out (no test email button/feature), emails without a snapshot attachment started showing up in my inbox even though that option was enabled. Given the high reviews and ratings of this DVR (check review date), I can only "assume" that this ONE is defective. Revain support suggested returning this one and ordering another one. Let's see if the new/replacement works. UPDATE: Pictured is a replacement. Another open box with missing materials. NO WAY.return.We're done! Video playback needs to be restarted
