This is a great buy if you have a Check Engine light but even if you don't it's great to get all the readings to see those that may be borderline and in need of service. Especially if you have an old car. I have an '04 Ford F150 and I have great data on it. Although this gadget costs $17.99, it actually costs $27.98 because to get real value you need to install the $10 phone app. (ODB Fusion) What's better than having everything in one device is that the app stays up-to-date after purchase because it updates frequently. For me it was actually worth another $10 since I got a special pack of Ford codes. So for $37.97, I have a reader and software that will read EVERY code on my truck, and I can create dashboards, upload data for analysis, etc. For data geeks like me, it's just cool! It used to cost hundreds if not thousands. I recommend buying it BEFORE you need it so you know how it works. Of course, if you have a new car or a car under warranty, this is only information.
