Wife bought them for her daughter. Being a bit of an audiophile myself (husband here) I had to check them out. Well, I know you didn't buy them for their sound quality, but they have really good acoustic qualities - very clean mids and crisp highs, and they actually have decent bass (certainly not too much, keep your bass nectar away from those ). The only downside is that the "soundstage" on them isn't great - the sound doesn't sound like it's all around you - it's coming from two points on either side of your head. I know this information is useless to your little kid who is going to use it, but just know - it sounds pretty good. They are great for their intended purpose. The chord is nice and short so it doesn't get tangled up in anything. Although the length of the cord is enough for a child to hold a device directly in front of them. The construction seems fine and the chord is even gossip, which gives me some hope that it will last a little longer. Glitter bits are scattered throughout the structure, frozen figures are everywhere, as are a few snowflakes - my daughter digs this, as does yours. (or today, for example, crank the volume all the way up and then finally plug in the headphone jack - that's a nasty surprise). But I'm fine with that.
