Quick breakdown: Pros: truly water proof, warm and well made. Very rugged and snug fit.Cons: they are super thick, keep that in mind for the type of shoes you choose for them.I live in south Louisiana, it is a wet humid climate. While these socks are more for "colder" weather areas, they will fit my purpose of hunting, fishing and barn use during the wet winter months. However, right now we are in the heat of summer and they might be a little warm for some people. I'll give you another use for them, I have recently suffered a serious burn to the bottom of my right foot. The doctor has significantly stressed not getting the wound wet until released. These socks actually allowed me to shower without getting my bandages wet. I stood completely in the shower with the sock pulled all the way up and the wool lip folded over, and took my sweet time in the shower, with no wetness or dampness to the bandages at the bottom of my foot. I was completely impressed.
