For a while, we thought that spring would never come. With constant rains, hail, and even snow, a farmer’s work must go on, and cold feet are not pleasant to work with! Our barn where we do some experimental planting, has no heat - just protection from the elements - but it’s easy to feel cold, dealing with cold planting mix, fertilizers and plants. We planned a fall kayaking trip and knew we needed something to keep our feet dry during launching and possible drag times. These worked! We had to drag for about half a mile in calf deep waters and our feet stayed dry! They will not keep your feet warm, but they do keep them dry. I was able to wear another pair off wool socks under these to help.

I bought these for fishing. Waders are overkill for small streams in the summer but sandals don't offer enough protection against cold or rocks. The challenge is to keep your feet warm and the rest of you cool. Wearing these under my wading boots is like having neoprene calf waders you can wear with shorts. They don't keep my feet bone dry but close enough and they are warm enough. Well worth the price of admission.

I put these waterproof socks to the test yesterday in the rainy surf of a beach in Northern California. It was a cold and miserable day to hunt for sea glass but my feet stayed warm and dry inside my rubber boots. I wear a 6.5 shoe and 7 boot and these socks fit like a glove. I like how the foot is formed to create a pocket of air. I included "safe" in the title because the fabric is so thick and spongy, if any rocks tumbling in the surf hit my boot, there's an extra cushion to protect my feet.

I played in a softball tournament and it was poring rain all weekend! I stood in mud and rain up to my ankles at times. Before these socks my feet would get wet and freezing cold and I was miserable. But these socks were amazing and kept my feet dry which kept the rest of me warm and happy!

I bought these to wear when wade fishing. The first couple of times I wore them they kept my feet dry. After that my feet were soaked. I was careful when washing them and hung them to dry. Will be looking for an alternative brand.

Being July, these are a bit much for current hiking conditions, however, they are definitely insulated, and I have no doubt they will take care of the 20-30 deg weather I experience in the winter. A very heavy knit style.

I got these socks to wear inside of my chest waders because they leak a little bit and my feet get cold and wet. I wore these all day Saturday and I could tell my feet were wet within the first 1-2 hours. When I got home and took my waders off I poured maybe a cup or so of water out of each boot and the socks didn't do anything to keep my feet dry.

I will admit I am new to the waterproof socks outside of some neoprene ones I had years ago for skiing. These socks stay dry and reach my knees. My feet run on the slightly narrow side so because of the type of material they don't fit tight to the skin. They fit more like a boot around the foot leaving a lot of space on the top of the foot above the toes. I got the small (women's 8-10.5) which I think is sock size not shoe size, because they fit tight from heel to toe and I am a size 9 shoe. I only tend to write reviews if a product is really good or really bad. I love these socks so much, that I am going to order another pair. They fit very well! I do many canoe expeditions in the wilderness and these are waterproof and should also help prevent tick bites etc.
