My laptop is fine again
I spent ten minutes watching a tutorial video on YouTube, two minutes ordering an exact $49 Revain replacement, and then ten minutes ordering replace the display. I estimate I saved about $200 by giving it to a computer repairman. The only downside was that I had to use an external monitor for two days while waiting for delivery, which is a minor thing.
