I bought this humidifier for myself because of the occasional nosebleed due to the dry air in our house. I use it in the office during the day and find the mist very comfortable and cools my dry skin. This product works as expected - it doesn't leak, it's SUPER QUIET (but sometimes it makes a more noticeable BLUB BLUB BLUB sound when the water is moving, but that's ok) and it's easy to take apart and dry/wipe clean. Descent. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. It says very clearly what to do, what NOT to do and how. Anything not mentioned in the instructions is considered common sense, but if you are unsure about something, contact product support. I'd also like to add that when you unscrew the cap after you've filled the tank, make sure it's right (not tilted or whatever) and tight (to avoid leaks). When you're done with that, unplug it, take it apart, empty it, wipe it down and let it air dry. This is the amount of maintenance I've done so far as I haven't even had a full week. You can see the sphere inside the tank (see photo), it was sent free with my humidifier. Apparently I was "lucky" to win, so this cannot be guaranteed with your order. It's not mentioned in the instructions (in fact the instructions specifically state that nothing should be carried or placed in the tank), but if it's something like Protec cleaning bullets it should (to an extent) prevent the accumulation of bacteria and mold , fungi. and algae in the humidifier to keep it cleaner for longer. It needs to be "thrown in the tank" and "allowed to last about 30 days". I already use distilled water in my humidifier to keep it clean, but I also use a purification ball for extra protection. However, I plan to clean the machine weekly as instructed and continue from there.
