My speakers weighed well under the 8 pounds listed in the specs and the brackets really held them tight. I think the bracket design is pretty good and the brackets are well made, but the brackets are plastic and when you hang the speaker on the end of the actual arm the plastic flexes - far too much for my comfort. And the adjustment up and down didn't work; The speakers sagged to the low end of the adjusted range and could not be adjusted to hold a higher angle. However, if you had much lighter speakers, I think these brackets would work well.
