Great for patchwork

I have this office chair that is over 7 years old and is starting to peel off the top layer as shown in the attached photos. Well before I go into details I would like to report that my padding skills are not that good, for starters I am not as good as the people shown in the video clip on the product page, not even close :). That being said, this really really needs to be used or applied if you have a small tear or rip here and there where you just snipped off a small piece of this tape big enough to just patch and close the torn area. But life isn't always easy most of the time :0. The armrest pictured is almost peeled off at the top and not very flat to begin with so it will take a little creativity and effort to fix it to make it look really good. Unfortunately I didn't have either lol, to be honest I was too lazy to cut the repair leather strap into shape before applying, I just peeled off the paperback and glued it on in less than 3 minutes. It was so quick and so easy :). The result, as you can see, isn't very professional, but it should be enough for me. At least it did its job and covered the flaking spots and also prevented further flaking. The leather strap itself is fairly durable and doesn't feel as soft or shiny as the faux leather on my office chair. The texture is almost matte, not very shiny. The adhesive base is decent, but it would be nice if it was a bit stronger. Speaking of which, here are just a few things I also wanted to point out: This is more of a one-and-done or peel-and-stick deal, so make sure you know what you want before you go apply If you try to peel or adjust it, it may not be as sticky as the second time and may also make it unusable. It's also helpful to leave some of the original leather on the areas you want to fix so this tape can stick securely, it doesn't just stick to the foam piece like it did on the back of my chair. I also had to stick this tape on the sides to keep it on the armrest. As I said this is really great for some small tear repairs with those two small rollers. Obviously for a major repair you may need a larger size. Aside from that, so far so good, this tape has been on the armrest for the past few days and there doesn't seem to be a problem. In addition, it helps to clean repair areas before application.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
