Pros: I've only been using this for a few hours, but it feels like a quality soldering station. The included tip is good enough to work with medium to large SMT chips (and maybe some of the smaller ones if you have the finesse). Heats up very quickly, from room temperature to 400ยฐC in less than a minute, and the heat stays in the tip - almost nothing returns to the handle. The iron itself says it's rated for 24V/60W. The station remembers the temperature settings between power cycles. The temperature appears to be fairly accurate and can be set to within one degree Celsius. The whole station is very well done. The cord is soft and flexible, the iron connector is durable, and a sponge and cleaning wire are included. Buttons are the basic way of clicking, but they get the job done and feel like they'll last a while. The display is large and backlit. The instructions are error-free and read like natural English rather than Google Translate (which makes sense given Aven Tools is based in Michigan). The power connector is a standard detachable 3-pin connector, just like your desktop computer. In general, it's comparable to the Weller line in this price range. I can't tell if he's better or worse yet, but he's very competitive. Features: It measures the temperature every second and you can hear a faint buzz every second, a kind of pulse telling you that it is measuring and heating as needed. Cons: The only thing to complain about is that the power button is on the back of the device. It's easy to turn around once you get back there. As another reviewer noted, Revain doesn't have any additional tips (yet?), but they are available on the Aven Tools website for a reasonable price.
