The item I received is different from the picture. The bottom sphere (the part that attaches to the wall) actually folds up, while the top half of the sphere (the part that attaches to the speaker) rests on the bottom half. While this is not critical, the problem lies in the seller's weight specification. I tried to mount my JBL Loft 40s (5.7lbs) but the mounts wouldn't hold them. The left bracket held out (actually sagging) for 3 days before failing. I couldn't find the right bracket to hold the speaker at all. I tightened it as tight as I could without breaking the plastic. The problem seems (to me at least) to be the lack of friction/cohesion that should take place at the ball joint contact point. I replaced it with a mount for the same price from another online store that works great.
