With a bad right knee and a strong desire to avoid surgery, I struggled with a variety of knee braces for a year before trying these straps; The moment I did that, I was sold. What I like most about patellas in general is that they give me maximum pain relief without the effort of putting them on and off. They are also significantly less expensive than other more obtrusive braces. also a very nice bonus. Despite all of that, I tried this particular strap because it's a bit different in design to others I've worn, in two ways: First, the strap is adjustable/tightened with a strap on one side. ; While most knee pads have straps on either side to adjust their tightness around the knee, the second raised portion of the strap that presses directly on the kneecap isn't covered in fabric like most; instead it's bare foam rubber. As far as those two things affected the performance of the brace, the one-way adjustment changed how I put the strap on, but it didn't change how the strap felt or performed on my knee. While I didn't expect the uncovered foam brace to be to my liking, I surprisingly preferred it to the more standard closed design because it seemed to move less and put more constant pressure on my kneecap. From my experience, if you have knee pain and want to try this patella strap, I recommend it over the larger, more complex knee pads. If you've tried other knee pads and liked them, you'll probably like this strap as much or better than the reversible closed cover straps. foam supports. Make sure you put it on after you get up or adjust the fit because if you tighten it while sitting, the fit will turn off as soon as you get up and move.
