This laptop stand is great for raising my laptop to eye level on a desk. It's difficult when you get it for the first time, but if you follow the instructions and understand that you have to put a lot of effort in separating the different parts, the installation will not take long. To lengthen the center section you will need to loosen the wing nut and then spread the two ends apart to allow it to slide out. The middle section basically extends a few inches. I found that because I needed more height, I had to use an extender to get the laptop's center of gravity in a good spot where the laptop stand felt secure. Interestingly, the kit comes with an L-shaped Allen key, which isn't specified in the instructions. However, it goes into either side of each of the two joints, but I couldn't turn it with moderate effort. The aluminum material has some weight and looks very modern and clean.
