During the pandemic, my parents practically locked themselves at home and did nothing. To pass the time, they recently started experimenting with different food recipes they read online. However, they always spend most of their time manually mixing the raw ingredients and making sure everything is well mixed. While it generally worked well, they spent a significant portion of their day doing something they wanted to try online. To make it easier I bought this stand mixer for her. This one specifically has a dough hook that allows you to purposefully mix and mix dough, which the current mixer doesn't have. Since the items they are trying out now usually involve the use of a test, this item is perfect for the task. Since your current mixer doesn't have this special attachment (and is also much less powerful), it just doesn't work for a batter that thick. As you can see in the photos, after about 20 minutes of stirring, the batter went from lumpy and raw to smooth and shiny in step 3. This is ideal for making smooth crust desserts, in this case mini mooncakes with a special flavored batter. We also tried the agitator/whisker attachments for thinner content and they work well too due to the high power output compared to other types of blenders. My parents said it's like comparing an electric screwdriver to a mechanical one when doing DIY around the house. While you can certainly hand-mix the contents manually, using this blender not only saves time but is also much more efficient and thorough than your hands. In addition, it can save you about an hour of cooking and give you time for something else. Since it's also one of the cheapest blenders out there, I'd say it's definitely worth the investment.
