Review on 🏍️ Cardo PTB00101 PACKTALK Bold Motorcycle Bluetooth Communication System Headset - Dual 2 Pack (Black) - Ultimate Rider Communication Experience by Montez Parson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely compact and thin, fits HJC Rpha 11 Pro helmets

I bought two 'double' sets of Cardo PACKTALK SLIM and Cardo SMARTH and they were identical except for the JBL labeling on the speakers . What I noticed about the JBL speakers is that there is no difference in sound quality inside the helmet. For Cardo SMARTH you need to update the software to version 5.7, which is the same software update as PACKTALK SLIM. Buying an older version of SMARTH will save you about $100 for a single device and about $150 for a dual version. I first bought PACKTALK SLIM and then SMARTH when I found out such a product existed. For me there is no difference here either. In fact, the SMARTH packaging is much better than the PACKTALK SLIM packaging. Also, the SMARTH battery pack is marked "Designed for HJC helmets" and I didn't mind as it was intended for my HJC Rpha 11 Pro helmets. installation tips. After installing these blocks on four different helmets, I learned something. First, try to place the control box about 1cm behind the "Emergency Use Only” sticker on the left side of the helmet for optimal positioning. Second, the battery can be mounted "flush" with the back of the helmet if you use a larger hinge (two included, but use the larger one) and cut it about 1/4" from the top with scissors. The The included thin hinge leaves a gap, and the large hinges (no cutout) push the battery farther back, making it a bit unwieldy. A little trimming will do the trick. After the battery pack is in place, press down lightly with your hand so it fits snugly against the back of the helmet. This will create a good look. Third, all the cables can be tucked under the cheek and neck rolls. I've seen several other installations online where the cable from the battery goes over to the control box the bolster sticks out.At first glance it looks like it needs to be installed outside, but you can slide the wire down between the gaps and un hide under the neck roll. Here are some of the tricks I learned installing these devices and hope it helps. Finally, these devices are ideal for HJC Rpha series helmets. It's slim and compact and you won't notice it. Overall, Cardo has done an excellent job with these devices and there is currently no other device that offers such a compact unit. In terms of performance I haven't really had a chance to test the devices' full potential (DMC and Bluetooth connectivity) other than listening to music and the occasional phone call and they all worked great.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
