The adhesive isn't strong enough to hold the vive base station

Maybe it was my fault for not letting it sit for the 48 hours I was supposed to, but the adhesive just couldn't resist, the base stations pick it up without dropping it. One fell off after 2 days, the other after 4. In the end I just went to the hardware store and got some double sided tape and that seems to have helped, otherwise the glue slowly loosens from top to bottom until it fully breaks its adhesion loses . The floor in my room is carpeted so luckily there is no damage but I would be wary of using the glue that came with the kit on something like hardwood. And just for details: my walls are painted and not quite level as you can see in the picture. Painting. I used Gorilla's "Tough and Clear" double-sided tape to stick them back to the walls. So far I haven't noticed any of the top-to-bottom peeling that comes with the standard adhesive, and I've also managed to get it off the wall without damaging it, even though it was only there a couple of hours' time. In general, the standard glue is not that strong and should be replaced with a stronger one. Although the standard glue removed some of the paint from my wall where the force was strongest, maybe the glue really only works on perfectly flat surfaces. UPDATE: The tape didn't work. Lasted a day or two and then died. I ended up just screwing the screws into the wall, now with less paint. Maybe it's something with my wall, it has texture. I certainly wouldn't slap anything expensive on it, especially hardwood. However, my base stations survived 50 drops to carpet. As far as range of motion goes, honestly everything seems fine to me. To tilt it up and down, simply move the camera along the axis of the metal handle. To twist it you really have to twist the entire piece of plastic that is sticking out and to tighten and loosen it twist the base. I have attached a diagram to clarify. The design is by no means elegant, but it looks good and works great, and that's pretty much all that matters. Unless you have to keep changing angles, I don't see that as a problem. I would just be wary of putting anything expensive on it without nailing it to the wall or buying a stronger adhesive.
