Exactly what I needed to replace the clamshell with a second mother console on a 2006 Impala. The battery didn't want to seat properly, so I had to cut off a few small pieces of plastic to keep the battery from sitting flush - it took quite a bit of shaving to get it fitted after I figured out why it wouldn't seat flush. I had a little trouble putting it together and thought it wouldn't fit, but then I realized I'd have to take out the rubber piece with the buttons and then put the electronic innards into this new rubber piece. By gently touching the edges of the rubber case around the edges of the electronics box before putting it back into the case, it fitted properly into the clamshell and snapped into place with no issues. Patience with new plastic parts usually helps. There will almost always be tiny burrs or bits of plastic left over from production that you may need to carefully shave and contour to get the parts to fit properly.
