Review on Logitech Advanced Illuminated Wireless Keyboard Computer Accessories & Peripherals for Keyboards, Mice & Accessories by Micha Jakubek ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Practical product, nothing to complain about.

After realizing that the 2022 letters on my original Apple keyboard were becoming increasingly difficult to make out, I decided to invest in an illuminated model. The MacBook Air 2022 is available as a sample. I made the call to not be cheap and go with the Logitech MX Keys. The keyboard's robust construction, nonslip base, and integrated power source quickly won me over. Every one of the twenty-four delights. I used Bluetooth to link it to my MacMini M1, and the connection is rock solid—much more so than with my regular Mac mouse. I went to an external source to get the driver and ended up finding a 2022-language version of Logi Options Plus. The driver's size of around 1 GB was the first thing I noticed. Yes, you can only use this program with a keyboard and mouse. There are a plethora of options for customizing the driver and mapping shortcuts to cover any eventuality. However, the illumination from behind is fixed. And the backlight is programmed to come on after a delay (which is tolerable) and go off after five seconds of inactivity on the keyboard. This is obviously not enough time, and the blinking backlight is driving me crazy. The backlight cannot be left on indefinitely. The presence of the backlight also responds to ambient light levels, but I'd rather have it constantly on. Sad to say! The firm is probably aiming to conserve battery life in this way. They defended this position with a piece of writing, explaining that this is, in fact, a corporate identity. As it turns out, the black keyboard is just as susceptible to fingerprints and dirt as the white one. Ali discovered a supple translucent silicone covering for the keyboard, purchased a few pieces, and is now using it exclusively. Even though the brightness isn't as bright, typing is still comfortable. The keyboard seems to be of high quality and construction. I like.

Pros
  • A full-keyboard that fits my MacMini comfortably. The lighting was the deciding factor in my purchase.
Cons
  • To program light.
