As others have said, this is not just a book for beginners. I'm a self-taught seamstress - sewed a lot over 20 years ago and am getting back to it after a break of a few years. I received the book yesterday and am very excited. There are many things I never learned and many techniques presented in a simple way with specific instructions. There are photos showing the finished product for each technique so you can decide what works best for your project. The last section contains some very attractive and useful patterns. The only thing I've noticed so far is that the fabrics used in some examples sometimes have an overloaded pattern, that doesn't fit. I can't show the details of the technique as well as I would like and on some color pages the print should be darker and clearer. All in all, a very simple, non-intimidating, and useful book that will serve as a guide for me. Beautiful patterns are a great bonus!
