Description: This pencil case is made of waxed canvas and has 7 pen compartments, a sticker pad compartment and a "back" area (like the money compartment in a men's wallet) for papers. . It has a leather strap and can be folded into three (3) fold styles or patterns - such as "pleat", fold in half, or fold in three. I personally prefer a test fold. Does it work?: Yes! Pencil slots are divided along the full length of the pencil shaft. The slots and fabric material work synergistically to keep the pencil in the slot and not fall out when held or stored upside down. The height of the pencil case is almost the length of a freshly sharpened pencil. So when the pen is new, the tip of the rod will line up with the height of the canvas. This condition is not preferred, but any modest use of a new pencil will require sharpening, and then it will sit very well. As all your pens will shorten with regular use, the top can be folded over the ends of the pens, making the packaging even less tall. Indefinable experience: I chose the usual beige-brown waxed canvas. I can't put into words how it feels to hold a film in my hands. The tactile feedback is very similar to that of the (now very old) canvas tent used by the military or the canvas of an old duffel bag. Also, it doesn't feel dry and lifeless. The waxed finish is just perfect - holding this foil in your hands is a delight. The drawstring evokes nostalgia when prepped for stashing in a backpack. The strap is long enough to wrap the bandage three times, allowing you to cross-tie the strap, reminiscent of the old west style (in the USA). I will buy another one just to make sure I always eat one. You also need to buy 2! I have uploaded two (2) photos of the orange ping pong ball for scale.
