It will hold a cup of granulated sugar, maybe just over a cup. It's super cute. Came in very secure packaging. There's a hole for a spoon at the top, so yes, there's always a small hole (unsealed), what you put in it will determine if you mind sealing it. It looks black and white. The spoon is also soft. But again very nice. We'll see how the spoon holds up but honestly the bowl looks nice and if the spoon breaks I'd just buy a small spare spoon.
