I found most non-bright colors didn't show up on my brunette daughter. For example, the electric blue was almost invisible. Lighter colors (turquoise, pink) were more visible but not bright. Worked better on my blonde hair. The texture of the crayon is like wax or maybe mild soap. Since the instructions say to heat with an iron, I expected it to be less sticky when hot. It may have become a little less sticky, but still not dry. The colors are washed out in one wash. Ultimately my 9 year old loves them but I won't be buying them again.
