Large Modified Sine Wave Inverter 12V to 110VAC Max Power 5500W with Cables

My goal for this large inverter was to be off grid and have a powerful inverter that could handle high power. It is clearly labeled as capable of up to 5500 watts of modified sine wave power. With an inductive load or a resistive load like a stove, induction hob or heat gun, this promises to handle up to 1500W. Note that many motors and heaters require an enormous starting current, up to 66% of their operating power. Also remember that no device is 100% efficient - there is always 10-15% parasitic power conversion losses due to internal circuitry. Even in idle mode, the battery consumes 15 watts of power, which is not unusual. This requires a battery that will allow you to draw 450 amps at 12v, which is plenty. The instructions were fine, albeit basic. The on/off switch must be turned on when the inverter shuts down due to overload or low input voltage. There is no dedicated reset switch. My inverter didn't work when I received it. I could see a loose wire (page 9 above and to the right of the USB port). Despite the usual "don't try to wait" disclaimers, I have a degree in electronics, so I felt confident opening this up to see what the problem was. Page 10 shows a loose wire that has come loose from the main switch. A touch of solder fixed it slightly and fixed the inverter in place. I tested the USB-A output with a USB 5V 2A load tester and got 4.86V, which is fine. (p.8). I could run a drill and a small electric motor at the same time. I also tried a 1500w heat gun which also worked on its own. The 12.5A 110V cordless saw worked perfectly. Note that a hefty 450 amp battery or battery pack is required to deliver this high output. Therefore, the seller includes 3 sets of HD battery connection cables in the scope of delivery. This quickly discharges a standard lead-acid battery. In my comments on the overall design, it should be mentioned that the cable junction boxes are poorly designed with insufficient insulation distance between the box's insulator and the housing (page 6). The grounding screw is loose on the inside and must be tightened carefully (page 7). There is NO serial number, sticker with technical characteristics or information about the manufacturer on the case, which surprised me a lot. Fuses are INTERNAL fuses and cannot be replaced without contacting a service technician. All of these things make me forgo one star and ignore the loose wire that can happen with any product but may not speak to a quality check. I can give this NGNWOB branded 5500W high power inverter a qualified 4 star recommendation at best. 12v dc to 110v ac heavy duty truck inverter, off grid solar panels for the reasons I mentioned. It worked fine after I fixed it, but there were other downsides. I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
