My Kensington Surface Pro X Rugged Case Review

I've been using Kensington cases since I got my first Surface 3. For the most part, I'm happy with this line of products. The reason I chose the Kensington over other cases like the Urban Armor version or others is because the Kensington capitalizes on what I think is one of the Surface's strengths: its kickstand. While others have their own built in kickstand, I wonder why reinvent the wheel and fix what ain't broke? In addition, the integrated surface stand keeps the overall weight of the case to a minimum. And with Surface 3,4 etc. heat can dissipate better without an additional layer of insulation. Not that I want to ruin other products, but for me this is the best choice. The Kensington-type chassis seems to minimize the Surface Pro X's minor flaws, like the power button placement. X can easily be hit by accident. However, the case increases durability and reduces the chance of accidentally turning off the device. I also really like the pen holder integrated into the case. I use my pen all the time, and while I find the keyboard's thin pen storage/charger useful, it's a bit difficult to get it out of the stand. Along with the case, I store it in a stand above the screen and take it out immediately. Then, at the end of the day, place the pen back in the keyboard stand to recharge. Another thing is that in previous versions of the case I didn't find any holes for accessing different ports big enough to accommodate some adapters. In some cases I had to enlarge some of the holes by cutting out the material. Since other versions had more ports, perhaps enlarging the access holes would weaken the overall strength integrity. However, since the X only has 2 USB-C ports, the access holes seem to be quite large. Finally, since I walk around a lot with my Surface, I really like the back strap. I only wish they had made it adjustable as I find it too tight.
