For best results you need 4 installations in a medium sized garage.
I bought a pack of 6. You'll need 2 in the front and 2 in the back of a regular sized garage to get the best light output. You will also need 11 inch lamp extensions for more light. I use 2 and most of the light is in the back of the garage opposite the garage door opener. 2 front gives your garage a more balanced light output. In addition, it is energy efficient, easy to install and operate, quiet and turns on and off without delay.
