First of all, I have to admit that I'm a real Laura McCabe fan. As a sub-intermediate beginner, I was fortunate enough to take her Keshi beading course a year or two ago. I learned so much in one class that I fell in love with beads forever and completing this necklace definitely took my skills to a higher level. Don't be afraid to try something new and challenging - it's how we get better. I think Laura has wonderful talents, skills and knowledge. She is also very good at writing explanations and teaching. she inspires me trying new things and "thinking outside the box”. If you make one of their designs, you will definitely get noticed when others see it! Even if you don't want to make/wear some of the items in this book yourself, you can apply the skills you learn through these techniques to your other beading projects. Techniques and projects aside, I especially enjoy seeing her looking at things around her for ideas and colors. Although I have been involved with beads for several years and have completed many of their projects, this book has taught me some new techniques. Instructions for various components can be summarized according to your own designs and ideas. And of course the gallery with works by other masters was wonderful! Like some of the other reviewers, I'd say it's moderate to advanced. But don't let that put you off, this is a great book.
