I was disappointed that the tag said they needed to be drip dried but I figured since I ordered them a much larger size than I needed they would be fine if they tumble dried unless , artificial textile threads will not shrink. melt or start a fire. I dried them on the lowest "delicate" setting and not only did they go through the cycle without melting or burning, but I don't think they shrunk. Your mileage may vary depending on the temperature range of your equipment, so a no-heat cycle or clothesline is probably still the safest route.
