I made the mistake of accidentally turning on the pump when the art on my original was closed and it started leaking. The Eheim part is ridiculously expensive, about a third of the price of the entire unit. This one is lighter and not safe in the long run, but it works and is a lot cheaper. Update 4/12/21: Broke after 16 months of use. There are small/thin plastic tabs that hold the locking mechanism together. Just buy it from home, it lasted 5 years and is better processed. I bought it anyway after it broke.
