Exceeded expectations. This kit contains everything you need to change the water and it seems really simple and easy to maintain your aquarium. The set includes a cloth for cleaning the walls of the aquarium and I really like it! Were it not for the higher price of this filter (although the ease of use might have made it worth it) compared to other aquarium filter refills, I would probably buy a new service kit with every water change. Instead, I purchased a service kit/filter cartridge in addition to the filter cartridge that came with the aquarium. I change two filter cartridges, remove the old carbon and wash all the filter components. I then bought fresh activated carbon and zeolite which I use to refill my cartridges. I've only done 3 water changes so I don't use this system for long. I expect to buy more of these maintenance kits over time as the sponges wear out. On a side note, I was able to reuse the cleaning cloth twice by rinsing and air drying between water changes. I also bought a separate bottle of water conditioner. However, this kit contains all the water conditioners you need. So if you buy a new service kit for every water change, you're good to go.
